The Cycle

Death on the doorstep again,
Life breeds death,
Death breeds grief,
Grief brings tears,
Tears bring sadness…

Friends go through what
I went through all those years ago,
The shock, the pain,
The heartbreak, the recovery,
The wait, then…

The process starts again,
A never ending cycle of loss,
And we all live knowing full well
That one day we will add to it,
Another statistic amongst lost millions…
